As midnight approaches, churches across the island are illuminated with candlelight as everyone gathers to witness the service.

Within the hours the streets of Corfu town are transformed into a sea of light and color as the custom of "Botides" takes place. Participants carry clay pots filled with water and throw them from their balconies, symbolizing the renewal of life and the triumph of good over evil. This ancient tradition is accompanied by fireworks and music, creating a spectacle that captivates both locals and visitors alike.

On Easter Sunday, families gather for a traditional feast featuring an array of culinary delights, including roasted lamb, magiritsa soup, and sweet treats such as tsoureki (Easter bread) and koulourakia (cookies).
